Soap & Glory - Skin care review

We all know the old saying never judge a book by its cover right? Well I am now taking a vow to never judge a beauty product by its cover. I have often been in boots and passed by the soap and glory products why? I didn't like the packaging. For many people the packaging is what draws them to the product they love the vintage look. I'll be honest I didn't, that is until secret santa hit the office and I picked up a hand care gift set for one of the girls. The hand cream smelt amazing and was an instant hit with everyone. So it got me thinking about the brand  and I read a wide range of rave reviews on line. So I decided to head to boots and to my delight it was 3 for 2 on all skin care products. So here are my thoughts on the products I picked.

Wish Upon  A Jar

First of all the product smells amazing!!! Think terry's chocolate orange divine. The cream is a 21 day collagen overhaul cream. The product ia a light pink cream with a thick consistency but spreads beautifully and is absorbed without a greasy residue. I am about to turn 30 and I've noticed my skin has become dry and dull not to mention my horrendous enlarged pores. The results can be seen within a few days my skin is beautifully moisturised and the texture has improved ten fold. I am using this cream as part of my night time regime. But I've stopped using it in the morning as I don't feel my skin needs it as much. I cannot recommend this product enough it is amazing I feel like I have the skin of a 20 year old again!!!!

Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvenating Face Serum

So the next product I picked up was the beauty serum. I have previously used the no 7 protect and perfect serum and seen no improvements in my skin tone. To be honest I wouldn't have picked up the product unless it was 3 for 2. But boy am I glad I did the serum is brilliant again it smells like terrys chocolate orange. I use 2 pumps of the product after cleansing morning and night. You do need to allow the product a few minutes to fully absorb before applying your moisturiser. However I have found that I don't need to apply my moisteriser in the morning, I just slap on the BB cream or foundation. It works as a fantastic primer and has plenty of moisturisation to last the day. This is an amzing product and has improved my skin tone I feel its smoother and slightly firmer.

No Clogs Allowed

My third choice was more difficult as I couldn't chose between the face mask products ofered by S&G eventually I settled on No Clogs Allowed. The mask is a self heating mask and does exactly what it says on the box. You simply take a small amount of the product massage it into your face. Wet your hands and scrub your face, you will feel the product heat up and the mask will turn blue. Leave the mask on for 3-5 mins and rinse off with the sponge provided. Now the first time I used the mask I left it on for 4 mins and noticed little improvement. On the second try I left the product on for nearly 10 mins and noticed a better result. I am prone to blackhead around my nose (beautiful) and I have notice a big reduction in this area. I have now used the product 3 times and with each use I've noticed a big reduction in the appearance of blackheads.

So I am now a huge Soap & Glory follower. I have been back to boots to purchase more products so expect more reviews soon. The only problem is they have so much to try I dont know where to begin. So drop me a line let me know what your favorite S&G products are. Also let me know what products you can't live without

Current pricing in ireland for these products are

Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvenating Face Serum €19.81
Wish Upon A Jar €19.30
No Clogs Allowed €15.24

Until next time

She Said Beauty Box - May Review

So I've heard so much about beauty boxes on line, I thought I'd give them a try! The first box in is the She Said Beauty box for May. I'm not a lover of samples and normally throw them away, but I have to say I was quite excited about receiving the box. None of my friends had heard of these sample boxes and all eagerly awaiting the arrival.

The box arrived from the UK just 4 days after I ordered it and I was pretty impressed. The packaging is beautiful and I was like a kid at Christmas.

Now for the nitty gritty of it all my favorite product by far was the Vintage Cosmetic company false lashes. The lashes are very natural looking, the only down side was they are difficult to remove from the box and as a result I damaged one of the lashes. I had to cut the lashes to size so it made little difference overall. I put the lashes on my Mam, she has just finished chemotherapy and has very short stumpy lashes. They went on easy caused no irriation and she was delighted with the results.

The next product is Inika Certified Vegan Lip Whip in peach. I love lip glosses and looking forward to trying this product out. Wow was I dissapointed the consistancy was dreadful when I pursed my lips they colour simply spread to the edges and the overall feeling was strange kind of like little bits of grit on my lips. At £14.30 a go I would not purchase this product, well I wouldnt buy it if it cost a pound/Euro. Harsh? I think not!

The next product is Natio scent of yoga in white lotus. Not really much to say about this its a bar of soap and it smell beautiful. I have yet to try the product as I'm not a fan of bars of soap. Saying that the product is beautifully presented and I will give it a try.

Next up on the list is Kim Kardashian ea de perfum. down on the information card as " a beautiful blend of feminine and sensual notes, the debut fragrance captures the many sides of Kim's personality and glamorous style". I beg to differ after wearing the scent on my wrist for an hour the sweetness was sickening. I'm sure a large number of women will love the fragrance its down to individual taste but for me it was dreadful.

Now the sun lotion from Green People SPF15. This is an organic and natural sun lotion with a
carob based tan accelerator. Ok so it smells natural kind of a tea tree sent which reminded me of a doctors surgery. I like my suncreams to smell tropical but then this is all natural products. I will certainly use the product as the sample is a handy size for a handbag but I wont be purchasing the product.

The bonus product in the box this month was Snowberry 3 sample gift. So I woke up this morning my skin was very dry so I thought I'd try the Nourishing rich day cream. Umm it says its anti aging and peptide rich. When opened I was hit with a marzipan fragrance and a lovely thick cream. so I naturally thought this is just what I need, I couldn't be more wrong the texture was greasy and it made my skin feel very tight not something I would expect from the nourishing description. The product was washed off and I wont be trying the other two anytime soon.
